The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched an inquiry against Balochistan Minister for Forest, Wildlife and Livestock, Obaidullah Jan Babat, for possessing assets beyond known sources of income. The decision to this effect was taken by Chairman NAB, former Justice Javed Iqbal in a meeting, here on Thursday.

The chairman ordered inquiry against Babat for possessing assets beyond known sources of income including property in Dubai, property in Karachi valuing Rs 130 million, two bungalows in Multan, a petrol pump in DG Khan and a bungalow in Quetta.

An official said that the NAB chairman also took notice of illegal occupation of forest land measuring 2,500 acres of Forest department by former Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali, Sohail Jamali and others in connivance with officials of Revenue department. The official said that the Bureau also started an inquiry against Secretary Health Sindh Dr Fazal Ullah over misusing his authority.
